By using Is This Person a Scam? ("the app," "we," "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Description of Service

Is This Person a Scam? uses artificial intelligence and web search to analyze text and images you submit, producing a risk assessment and investigation report. The service is designed to help you make more informed decisions about potentially fraudulent individuals or communications.

2. AI-Assisted Analysis Disclaimer

The analysis provided by this app is generated by artificial intelligence and automated web searches. You acknowledge and agree that:

• Results may contain errors, inaccuracies, or incomplete information
• AI-generated assessments are probabilistic, not definitive
• The app cannot guarantee the accuracy of any verdict or risk score
• You should always verify findings through independent research before making decisions
• The app does not replace professional investigation, legal counsel, or law enforcement

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes. The following uses are strictly prohibited:

• Harassment or stalking -- Using the app to monitor, harass, intimidate, or stalk any individual
• Defamation -- Using results to make false or misleading public statements about any individual
• Discrimination -- Using the app to discriminate against individuals based on protected characteristics
• Illegal activity -- Using the app in connection with any illegal purpose or activity
• Abuse of service -- Attempting to circumvent usage limits, reverse-engineer the service, or interfere with its operation

4. Subscriptions and Payments

The app offers both free and paid subscription tiers.

• Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your Account Settings on the App Store after purchase
• Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription

5. No Warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• Results will be accurate, reliable, or complete
• Any errors in the service will be corrected

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

• Your use of or inability to use the app
• Any decisions you make based on analysis results provided by the app
• Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
• Any third-party conduct on the service

7. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the app at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms of Service, is harmful to other users, or is otherwise objectionable. This includes but is not limited to abuse of the service, circumvention of usage limits, or use for prohibited purposes.

8. Intellectual Property

The app, its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Is This Person a Scam? and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Investigation reports generated for you are provided for your personal use only.

9. Third-Party Services

The app integrates with third-party services including Anthropic (Claude AI), Brave Search, RevenueCat, and Firebase. Your use of the app is also subject to the terms and policies of these third-party providers.

This app is not sponsored, endorsed, or affiliated with Apple Inc.

10. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
